🧠 Mental Health Matters! 💙
This morning, our students had the opportunity to hear from Brandon Saho, former sports reporter and founder of The Mental Game podcast. Brandon shared his powerful story about overcoming depression and the importance of talking openly about mental health.

His message encouraged students to remember that it’s okay to ask for help, therapy is cool, and we all have mental health to take care of — just like our physical health.

A huge thank you to West River Health Services and Hettinger Public School for bringing this important and inspiring conversation to our students!

We had an incredible Homecoming Week! 🎉
The celebration kicked off Monday with Coronation—congratulations to our Homecoming King and Queen! Throughout the week, our students showed amazing school spirit by dressing up for each theme day and finishing strong with their hallway decorations based on board games. We wrapped up the week with the always-exciting Class Olympics, where our competitive sides came out, and during the breaks, high schoolers danced and celebrated with our elementary students.

What a fun week full of school pride and community spirit! 💙🤍

The school model has not changed in well over 100 years. We must adapt to become more flexible and offer hybrid pathways for our students as we are no longer expected to just provide a basic well-rounded education, but a more career ready experience for our students. This means more course offerings and more work-based learning opportunities. Come out tomorrow night and help the Board and administration gather community input which can help shape and improve the learning experiences for our students.

Once again, the Board and administration would like to invite parents and stakeholders to a public forum this coming Wednesday, October 8th, at 7:00 PM to collect input in strategic planning. We are looking for public input on class offerings, dially structure at the high school level, and providing more than a traditional educational setting with a focus on work-based learning opportunities. We want to work together to provide a world-class education for our students!
