Good morning! School starts Thursday, August 25, and our school is looking great! I will be in the office this week today through Thursday and all next week if you would like to get a head start on paying fees, etc. Here are the 2022-2023 fees:
MEALS
Student lunches: $3.55/daily, $68/ monthly, $306.25/semester and $612.50/yearly.
Adult lunches: $4.40/day
Reduced price lunches: .40
Snack milk and extra milk: .50
STUDENT ACTIVITY AND ADULT SEASON TICKETS:
Student: $45/year
Adult: $60/year
GATE ADMISSION: $6/adult and $4/student
VOCATIONAL AG. CLASSES: $10/Class
BOOK SECURITY FEE (Freshmen): $30 - refunded as seniors
I have free and reduced meal applications in the office, and the forms are also available on the website and Facebook page.

August 2022, Calendar
Elementary Girls Basketball will have their first practice on August 22nd. This practice will be in Hettinger, so a bus will leave Scranton at 2:15 for all girls in grades 4-6 interested in playing elementary basketball. Misty Steeke and Jen Fordahl will be coaching these teams this year. If you have any questions, please contact the school or Mrs. Steeke. Thank you!

***5TH GRADE PARENTS***
Mrs. Conlon needs to know if any 5th grade band parents are interested in an instrument rental night with Eckroth Music. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Conlon ASAP (701-640-1764). First football practice at 12:01 August 4, 2022! Have a great season, Night Hawks!
The football bus will leave Scranton School tonight at 11:20 PM for the opening practice of the season tonight at 12:01. Lets Go Night Hawks!
Next week there is an elementary volleyball camp in Hettinger. There will be a bus from Scranton on Monday and Wednesday that leaves at 7:15 a.m. NO BUS ON TUESDAY AS OUR DRIVERS HAVE A BUS DRIVER WORKSHOP THAT DAY! Athletes will need their own ride on Tuesday. Go Night Hawks!

Scranton Public School is still looking for a coach to assist with the JH Volleyball program. Alix Pearson is in charge of the JH program, we are just looking for someone to assist. We are running out of time to find this position, so anyone interested in helping, give Kirby Cagle or Kelly Pierce a call at Scranton Pubic School.

Very Important Information for ALL Scranton Public School Families:
The USDA began providing free meals to students during the pandemic beginning in 2020. On June 30, 2022, the USDA chose to end the waiver that provided free meals to students and families since 2020.
Families must complete a Free and Reduced Lunch application in order to receive assistance for the 2022-2023 school year. By completing this form, Scranton Public School will also receive needed assistance for programs in the classroom. *This form MUST be completed each school year.
