A component of the United States Army, the National Guard is primarily composed of citizen-soldiers who hold down full-time, civilian jobs, attend school, or as is often the case, both. At the same time, they are available to provide support and protection for the states' civilians or be called for military operations at a national level.

The January 19th boys basketball game in Solen has been canceled. We have scheduled a new game against Center-Stanton. That game will be played on January 18 in Center. We will play Varsity and JV. Games will begin at 5:00 PM mt.
The wrestling tournament scheduled for in Bowman tomorrow has been cancelled.
There will be no high school or junior high practices tonight. There will be an open gym in both schools for high school girls and boys high school players to get some shots up. In Scranton, this will run from 3:30-4:30.
Both the boy's and girl's JH basketball games scheduled for today have been cancelled. A make-up date has not been set at this time.

We had an early morning heading to Medora to compete in the District 8 competitions. We have been preparing for this day since October and man was it worth it! We started off strong with the creed which was done by Kiley Mausehund and she received second place and a gold which will be sending her to state next Tuesday. Next, we had Talli Eaton who participated in prepared speaking and received a bronze. Aidyn Fisher took part in extemporaneous public speaking and also was awarded with a bronze. When competing in Parliamentary Procedure you are rewarded with a team award and an individual award. The Parliamentary Procedure team placed silver as a team. The team consisted of Sadie Freitag (Sentinal, silver), Vanessa Oase (Reporter, bronze), Karady Evans (Treasurer, silver), Kinley Stadheim (Secretary, silver), Colt Maychrzak (Vice President, silver), Kyan Stadheim (President, silver), and Talli Eaton acting as student advisor. We had a demonstration team which involved Kinley Stadheim and Sadie Freitag. They received gold and runner up which will send them to the state competition next Tuesday. The job interview was performed by Karady Evans who received 1st place and a gold sending her also to the state competition on Tuesday. Our Greenhand quiz participants consisted of Mardi Loder-Bronze, Sahara Martinez-Bronze, Tripp Mack -Bronze, Ali Buckmier-Bronze, Zander Evans-Bronze, Romana Eaton-Silver, Chloe Maychrzak-Silver, and Sawyer Hendrickson-Gold. The green hand quiz team was rewarded with silver. Our quiz individuals were Katherina Kettering-silver, Malachi Dilse-silver, Aidyn Fisher-silver, Dani Maychrzak-gold, and Mackenzie Hendrickson who received gold and second place. Mackenzie, Dani, Aidyn, Malachi, and Katherina will attend the state competition next Tuesday. We ended the day on a great note with the Quiz team being awarded gold and first place.
