Elementary girls' basketball practice Friday, September 13, will be in Scranton.

It is important that we address some issues that we are having with bullying in our school. We take bullying issues very seriously and want to make sure those cases are dealt with swiftly and according to policy. Our bullying policy can be found on our website under the school board tab and the link that states policy. It is also printed in your student's agenda. We would appreciate it if parents and their children would review our policy and contact the school if there are questions. We live in a world were rude and sometimes downright mean comments are made. We will hear opinions that we do not agree with. As we grow to be adults, this will not suddenly go away. We will need to know how to react, and sometimes more importantly, not to react to these situations. Developing this resiliency is important and something that we try to instill in our students. The rude and mean comments will be addressed by administration when they are brought to our attention, but these situations are not always an act of bullying. Once again look at our bullying policy, it includes what defines bullying. Our website also has a Bullying Report Form located under both the Elementary and Secondary School tabs. If there are instances of bullying, please fill our this form so that we are aware of the incidents. These reports will be monitored, investigated, and handled according to policy. A reminder to students and parents. We cannot address situations that we are not aware of. We encourage our students to advocate for themselves and bring these situations to their teachers or to the administrators when they occur. We want the best climate and culture possible at Scranton Public School. Please help us make sure this is the case. Thank you! Kelly Pierce Superintendent

Cheerleading!

On September 10th, 7th and 8th graders will be going to a career fair (T4T) at Trinity High School in Dickinson. The bus will leave Scranton at 7:00 am and will return to scranton at 3:30. Lunch will be provided for the students at the event. On September 11th, 9th and 10th graders will be going to a career fair (T4T) at Trinity High School in Dickinson. The T4T event is a neat opportunity for students to get exposure to several different career paths and to network with other students.
